Catastrophic Climate

In Mauritius, 30 people die on average per day. Imagine the same emotion that arises when we hear all day long about the amount of Covid-19 positive cases that result in very few deaths. Like with climate change, there is nothing more harmful for the economy than the fear virus.
Catastrophism raises radio audiences and sells newspapers. Picking out the frightening details in reports from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the main focus of media attention. Extreme but improbable threats are exaggerated in the media and repeated by environmental activists who don’t want to be proven wrong.
Zeke Hausfather and Glen Peters, two climate experts, claim that this journalistic negative bias can, paradoxically, cause climate apathy. Presenting the worst-case scenario for the future can encourage defeatism and fatalism or at the very least serve to demoralize individuals. However, the disaster scenario, which calls for a significant increase in coal use, is looking less and less plausible as it disregards mitigating strategies for climate change.
From science to scientism
The IPCC is a political organization, not a body engaged in scientific study. Although it makes use of scientific research that has been published, it is not its job to offer advice. A theory should be based on science, not faith.
Science generates conjectures and hypotheses and evaluates their veracity. Science does not have the power to impose orders; it only describes, not advises.
A true science advances through reasoned discussion between opposing viewpoints, not by exclusions and criticisms in the name of ideological conformity. However, with the state sciences, science ceases to be the critical spirit of authoritative discourses and begins to serve the same purpose as priests and Brahmins. With a caste of professors who provide the watchwords to transform society, it veers toward scientism. Marxism, which was formerly promoted as a scientific theory of history but later fell apart, is replaced by climate science.
The natural cause of global warming
There are many of scientists, despite they receive very little attention, who do not believe that human emissions are the primary cause of global warming.
The oceans have 45 times more carbon in them than the atmosphere of the planet. More CO2 is released than is taken up when the intertropical oceans warm. Temperature increases like those the Earth has been experiencing for millennia would be more a result of planetary motion than human activity. The excellent book Apocalypse Never contains additional justifications for the idea that global warming has natural causes.
Coping strategy
Despite being certain, the threats posed by global warming cannot be measured due to how distant in the future they are. Not that we are denying global warming. But blaming man will accomplish nothing other than the desire to impose degrowth via a new collectivism. We require an adaptation plan that relies on the market economy and its participants to address the climate issue effectively.
It is clear that activists who embrace both an apocalyptic discourse and a utopian discourse on the prospect of altering everything have no place in the intellectual sphere of this decentralizing strategy, which has demonstrated its supremacy over central planning. It’s very Western and very millennial. This sparks a debate that is just as obscure as the coronavirus vaccination debate.
