Mr Devapragassen (Deva) Armoogum, a professional in Finance and Transport, retired since 2012 after a rich career in public and private sectors. His interest in nature, gardening and farming dates from his childhood, and this was reinforced at school when he joined the Young Farmers Club. The creation of Dreamland Farm after his retirement thus fulfilled a lifelong urge to venture into farming. After discovering the concepts of Permaculture, he followed a Permaculture Design Certificate Course from the Permaculture Research Institute, a course on Zero-Based Agriculture, a course on dairy farming as well as other workshops from FAREI, and a course from L'Institut Agro Montpellier.
